12 A request was received in June, 1946, from Dr. Kugene Hollon of the University of Oklalionia for unpublished material for his use in a biography of General Zebulon Montgomery Pike. For many years Mrs. Willian. I A. Livini^ston, of Iowa, great grand- daughter of (leneral Tike's l)rother. James Brown Pike, has been corresponding witii other members of that branch, and collecting material about her ancestors ...and relatives. For several years she has been going over this material, selecting from it and sending copies and items of interest to the Association. So that, thanks to her diligence in collecting and care in preserving letters about General Pike and his daughter, Clarissa (Pike) Harrison, we were able to give Dr. Hollon not only complete and accurate data of the ancestry of General Pike, but interesting extracts from old letters, and to put him in touch with some descendants of General Pike. Prints were also made and sent to him of the pictures which appear in this publication.
