In view of the fact that infantile paralysis has existed for several months and still exists in the United States and Canada taking on in some locali- ties an Epidemic character; that conlsi^erible anxiety is expressed by the public generally, and that they, the public, the physicians, and the health authorities may well expect an authoritative statement upon the. subject from this association in annual convention assembled; BE IT RESOLVED, That the president be forthwith ftuthoriaed to appoint a small committee of specialists and of those who have had experi* ence with the disease with instructions to meet immediately and to prepare a report of the present actual knowledge of the cause of the disease/ the manner and agents by which it is spread, the best methods of treatment, and the best preventive measures.
