There is a story told by the Cumberland people of an old professional fisher- man who regarded this fly with such extreme i8o ROD AND RIVER veneration that when he was dying he requested that the ' flee/ as he termed it, might be laid on his lips when he was dead, and I believe his wish was complied with.
