I might have been thankful for the snow, but the snow was cold and eating it only made me colder. Even when the wind died down and the sun came out, it became harder and harder to stay warm. But that only made me more tired. I’d barked and barked the first two days, hoping to alert a distant neighbor or passerby on the road, but now even that was too much effort.
