The route proceeds by Kings- cavil (pop. 629) to the Royal Burgh of S3i 5| LINLITHGOW (pop. 4, 002), an ancient and storied I town, being the first Burgh in the Kingdom in the I reign of David I. Edward I. Built the Castle, and resided here for a considerable time. The ruins of the Palace are on the margin of a beautiful sheet of water surrounded by pleasant green slopes.
