On the one hand the Engllfh Church teaching three or four dod:rines lefs clearly and plainly than I could wifh — dimly, If you will, and indlftlndly — but teaching them ftill : on the other, Rome teaching three or four doctrines which Bernard, which Thomas Aquinas, which Rupert, which Bona- ventura called hlafphemous, and forcing them on us.
