"Make your report," he said tiredly. "Or, better yet, let me have a look. And don't tell me that I'm unfit to receive reports or that I should take a trip. The breakers still crashed in a satisfying manner onto the beach, but the beach was green!
There was no sand at all, just a wet tangle of grass which ran unbroken along the shore and straight into the sea.
