Let me, then, say to individuals who are tempted to such despair, in the language of the Prophet, " Why will ye die, O house of Israel?" *' Why, " when God calls you to holiness and joy, will you not obey the call ? " Why, " when he would sprinkle you with the blood with which he is said to " sprinkle many nations, " will you refuse to be cleansed ? " Why, " when you might have the " mind which is in Christ Jesus ;" when you might have " fellowship with the Father and with the Son ;" when you might be " one" with " the Father, even as Christ is one with him ;" when you might here possess an ever-present God, and hereafter expatiate in worlds of glory, dwell in the immediate presence of the Lord, drink of the river of his plea- sures, and feed in the pastures of his joys ; — why will you throw away your birthright ; continue to slumber in the porch of the temple ; and, by remaininoj half a Christian, rob yourself of all his privileges and joys ?
