As this had not the desired effect, a portion of thetroops was landed at Sama, to the northward of the town, being followedby Colonel Miller with the remainder, and Captain Wilkinson with themarines of the _San Martin_; when the enemy fled, and the patriot flagwas hoisted on the batteries.
