In 1810 a building called St. George's DEVELOPMENT OF CHURCHES 39 Church was opened in Georgetown, in which the service was performed according to the liturgy of the Church of England as by law established.
In 1815 the Wesleyans commenced their operations in Georgetown and succeeded in establishing a Church in that place and in Mahaica.
