Within there is a hollow, small and low, Where solitary 'mid those mountains grey, To the old cromlech did a female go, To end her mournful hours, perchance to pray. How dreary must have been the livelong night, With the wild storm borne on the sultry air, And the wind rustling past with savage might, As if to mock her in her rocky lair !
