The names of our ancestors William Gilfillan of Balfron, and Helen Stevenson, his spouse of the parish of Denny, were readily found. Also the names of Thomas Gilfillan and his spouse Mar- garet (whose maiden name was variously written as Dun or Dine or Dining) the father and mother of the said William.
