What reading level is Solvatochromic Investigations of Chromatographic Processes book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

115 The slope of this isotherm was nearly equal to 1 (0.986), suggesting almost complete adsorption onto the surface. A similar isotherm was also done on 15% water added to the alumina (activity grade V) and a linear relationship with a slope of 0.685 was found. A smaller slope with activity grade V makes sense since more active sites have been occupied by water in the form of hydration reactions and bulk adsorption. Because the dye can dimerize, however, the lack of a plateau does not suggest
...a monolayer was not exceeded.
Spectral analysis as a function of the amount of dye adsorbed was also needed to truly determine if any self-association would occur. Figure 4-3 is a series of overlayed ET-30 on alumina spectra showing the effects of increased dye concentration on the charge-transfer band. The measured polarity did not change at all for the four lowest concentrations (95.3 to 379 mg ET-30 added/kg alumina) . At the two higher levels (474 and 572 mg/added) , the peaks became broader and began shifting to longer wavelengths.
