Account of James III Bo-wdoin.
Graduated at Harvard College before he was twenty; sailed for Europe and spent a year at Oxford ; then trav- elled, and was on the Continent, when he heard of the battle of Lexington; returned immediately to America; March 17th 177G was on the heights of Dorchester with "Washington and crossed over with him in the same boat, at the time of the evacuation of Boston ; his health gave out and he went to reside with his father and assisted him in his political labors.
