For the last five years o...f his life he was engaged in compiling the genealogy of the "Fairbanks Family in America, " which will be a lasting monument to his memory. It is an octavo volume of nearly one thousand pages, and issued since his death, which was very sudden. Mr. Fairbanks was a man highly esteemed and respected by all who knew him ; a man of fine abilities, with a pleasing manner, a strong personality, kind and genial, making many friends wherever he went. He possessed a splendid physique and perfect health He was a model husband and father in every sense of the word, ^ and his deep love for home and family is beautifully expressed in letters which are treasured by his children as a precious inheritance.
