For eight years Mr. Huck held out in this exacting position, and his very efficient work in the class room, as well as the excellent music rendered under his direction in church, had won for him the respect and admiration of every parishioner, when a splendid opportunity to engage in business caused him to resign his position, Aug. 25th, 1888, which, however, he has tem- porarily filled again on many occasions, being always ready to help out in an emergency.
