In the mean time, we cannot help expressing the hope that our friends everywhere will receive the nomination of General Harrison with something akin to generous confidence. When vi^e reflect upon the distinguished intelligence of the nominating convention— ' how ably all interests were represented in that body— we certainly have a high guarantee, that, should General Har- rison be the successful candidate for the Presidency, that office will be... happily and constitutionally admimstered, and under the guidance cf the same prmciples whicli directed our Washmgton, Jefferson, and Madison.
