The flowers are inserted in this tube, and, of course, rise as required. The pot is really a double one, or rather one with an outer shell; this shell has no bottom, and when the performer passes near the servante of another table or chair he allows the solid pot containing the earth to slide out, consequently it is only the shell he places on the table, which will allow of the tree to pass right through.
