Fu espulso un feto morto da una dama di 41 anni, che aveva felicemente altre volte partorito. Esso non era più lungo d'un feto in sesto mese, con la faccia allungata, e con un globetto di apparenza carnosa che sorgeva sul mezzo della parte inferiore della fronte. Sotto questo globetto stavano gli occhi, che si toccavano fra loro mancan- dovi il naso, ed erano coperti non già da palpebre, ma da una... mem- brana trasparente, attraverso la quale si potevano vedere. La bocca, essendo dischiusa, mostrava i piccoli denti incisivi. L'addome era aperto nel mezzo, per dove uscivano gli intestini. Gli integumenti del corpo si videro similmente aperti anche sui lombi, ma l'apertura non andava più in là dei medesimi. Le braccia erano contorte e corte e le mani parimenti contorte. Anche i piedi erano torti, nonché la gamba sini- stra intorno alla quale era strettamente avvolto il funicolo ombellicale.
