The disease usually follows the course of ordinary boils, and is nearly always brought about through con- stitutional causes, general debility a disordered stomach, etc. If treat- ment is begun at first sign of their appearance; they may be absorbed 52 STRONG EYES without suppuration, but if well started relief may be secured more speedily by allowing them to come to a head. Usually they will open themselves when ready to discharge the pus, though in some cases re- lief can be secured more speedily by opening with a lance.
