...nor mode. The children are familiar with the effect of minor songs through many of the songs in Book One. This song illustrates the contrast between the major and minor effects.
Theory: As this song begins in the major key, the kejmote should be given for F major. After singing the song the children should dis- cover where the change into the minor key occmrs. The second half of the song is in the key of D minor.
Interpretation: Do not sing too quickly. Bring out the words with great distinctness, especially on the last part.
