In the third class, which contains pupils from thirteen to fifteen years of age, drawing receives considerable extension, especially with regard to its appli- cation to the practice of the trades the pupils intend to follow. " The choice and number of the subjects treated in the three- years' studies are such that the young men who intend to follow the practical industries of constructing buildings or machines may obtain in the lower practical schools sufficient instruction to become master-builders, capable of understanding the plans to be executed, and of representing their own ideas in drawings.
