DISTRIBUTION AND MODE OF OCCURRENCE. 29 spots about Llyn Gwynant and thence to Beddgelert ; in the country further south, on Moel-meirch, Yr Arddu, Mynydd Nant- y-mor, Moel-dd
...u, Oerddwr-isaf, and Moel-dinewyd, and in the pass between Beddgelert and Pont-Aberglaslyn. These localities include lavas belonging to all the different sets from the Upper Arenig flows near Llyn Conwy to the highest of the Snowdonian rhyolites. Similar varieties occur in the Lleyn promontory, not only in interbedded lavas, as at Pwllheli and Pen-y-chain, but in presumably intrusive rhyolites, such as those of Broom Hall near Afon-wen and Careg-y-defaid near Llanbedrog.
These nodular rhyolites may be compared with those of Skomer Island and Jersey, or still better with those of Westmorland, where on the line of the Bala lavas from Shap Wells to Stockdale magnificent examples may be collected.
