The length of the bird is about 9 in. It feeds on worms, slugs, and insects, also, in due season, corn.
DESTRUCTIVE The CROSSBILL (Loxia curvirostra) belongs to the family Frin- gillinae and sub-family Loxinae (Crossbills).
