Siddons, was firstly apprenticed to a surgeon at Coventry, and was afterwards Manager of the Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle, and other theatres. When he settled in Durham he lived at " The Grove, " near the present Grammar School. In Feb. 1820 he advertised as " Shortly to be publishe...d, ' Durham College ; or, Portraits of the Living : a Poem. By S. G. Kemble. Dedicated to Viscount Barrington. ' " He died 5 June and is buried in the Nine Altars. See his wife's burial 28 Jan. 1841.
