Now in regard to the traditional conception of God as the transcen- dent, supernatural personality, it should be noted that Eucken has set aside its supematuralistic features, and retains what he regards as its eternal element. He cannot conceive of God as coming to us by means of external revelation, miracles, mediations, even by the Son of God.^^® He would not, therefore, hold to the view of God as a realistically con- ceived transcendent personality.
