..."ex- ceeding joy." Out of her religious experience grew all comely graces and virtues. And those quali- ties, not directly the outgrowth of religion, received from it a richer hue and a sweeter savor. She kept " her tongue from evil and her lips from speaking guile." She employed them rather in that conversation which is "always with grace, seasoned mth salt" — never for the detraction of her fellow- men, — ever in kindness and for comfort. Her re- ligion was Loth deeply emotional and eminently practical.
