1 In former addresses Job, though general, was also personal in his replies, e. G. , in xvi. 8, he singled out Eliphaz. In xxvi. 2-4 he singles out Bildad. So here, he singles out Zophar. It reminds us of the say- ing of Themistocles, "Strike, but hear me!" (Plutarch, Themist, c. 11).
