What reading level is The Cahokia Atlas a Historical Atlas of Cahokia Archaeology book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

The post pits in Mound 72 and the placement of Mound 96 suggest that these two mounds may have been part of an early Wood- henge at Cahokia similar to those found by Wittry in Tract 15A. The ceramic data and radiocarbon dates indicate that Mound 72 was utilized for a short period of time at about A. D. 1000. There is a small mound (94) about 250 meters (820 feet) north of these two mounds which might be part of this com- plex.
IXB. Another subdivision of the Borrow Pit Group are three mounds to
... the west of Borrow Pit 5-1 (S650-775, W375-520). The two major mounds in this area are a conical (67) and an associated platform (68). These two mounds are on a north- south axis and appear to have been built on a con- necting platform. There are nearly identical to but smaller than Fox (60) and Round Top (59). Mounds 67 and 68 are also probably representative of a charnel-house and burial-mound complex. Two hun- dred meters (656 feet) west of Mound 67 is Mound 93. The contours defining this mound are irregular but suggest that it may have been oriented with its long axis northeast-southwest.
