Notes: I have not seen the types of this species, but I have at hand speci- mens taken from the roots of Eriogonum in the type locality and agreeing in all respects with the original description, which was probably based upon immature specimens. I have also examined the types of P. Yerba-santae Essig and of P. Leptodontis Claussen MSS. And am unable to regard either of these as in any way distinct.
