Sanford: Well, that's correct, (pause) The administration doesn't always take the blame for everything that happens. It's all still in the discussion stage. It wouldn't have been proper for the Provost to have called in the Chronicle and to have said, "Hey, listen, we're thinking about doing awa...y with the Master of Forestry Program." Sanford: I think it would have been unfair to the faculty to have done it that way and that was not our procedure. Our procedure was that first the faculty discusses it, then if the faculty is not satisfied with the decision, then the entire academic counsel can discuss it. The whole faculty becomes part of the decision. I think to announce in advance something like that not only would have been improper, but not along the lines of our policy.
