The letters R. M. Are probably the initials of the bell founder. Robert Merston was an itine...rant at this time. T. H. , Thomas Hall was vicar from 1592 to 1606. The other letters probably represent the then churchwardens. KEYINGHAM. (S. Nicholas. ) Three bells.
1. James Harrison, Founder, Bart. J^" 181 9. 3 2. & 3. 1819. 3 I Vide Hedon ante. 2 Barton-uponHumber 3 Vide Burstwick ante.

KILNSEA. (S. Helen. ) No bell.
The old church was washed away by the sea in 1826. For some time previous to the destruction of the church, the bell was removed and hung upon a tree to avoid the danger of bringing down the tower by the vibration of the bell when rung.
