What reading level is The Church's Attitude Towards Truth book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

If there were reason to suppose that these Pastoral Letters stated the only position rightly tenable within the Church, I should not deem it of the slightest impor- tance to write a single sentence and I should have no further interest in the Church as an organization vitally related either to the present or to the futiu^. If such utterances were to be regarded as authoritative and final, as truly interpretative of the attitude of the Church, we might feel that it had already become what Bishop
... Brooks feared it might become, " a mere fantastic sect." On the contrary, I do believe these Pastorals to have been one of the greatest mistakes ever made by the American episcopate. No more astounding definition of Christianity has ever been made anywhere by any- body. If the bishops' contention were correct Chris- tianity might well be regarded as no longer of any prac- tical importance or significance. I am so far from believing this as to be convinced that the true meaning of Christianity is only beginning to be apprehended by the masses of men, that its glory lies not in the past but in the present and chiefly in the future.
