U, iSSi, it was unanimously " Resolved > That the bill introduced in the senate by Mr. Pendleton, of Ohio, provides a constitutional, practicable, and effective measure for the remedy of the abuse known as the spoils system, and that the associations represented in this con- ference will use every honorable means, in the press, on the platform, and by petition, to secure its passage by congress.
