Edward, his eldefc brother, died without ilTue ; and Hen- ry alfo died without iffue, leaving Henry Stanley, of Aughtcn, fecond fon of Sir Jam.es Stanley, his heir; which Henry Stanley, Efq; became the chief heir-male of this branch ; and miarrying Margaret, daughter and heir to Peter Stanley, of BickerftafF, Efq; died on July 23, 1597, leaving iffue two fons, Richard and James.
