He probably takes Byron as his model, and ChildeHarold, as a sample, as in his youthful days, he was a fond admirer ofGEORGE GORDON NOEL BYRON, always calling his whole name, when he namedhim. His Preceptor in Law, was the Honorable Walter, Judge Forwar...d, lateController, subsequently, Secretary of the Treasury of the UnitedStates, and recently _Charge de Affaires_ to Denmark, now President ofthe Bench of the District Court of the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Vashon was admitted to the Bar of the city of New York, in the fallof 1847, to practise in all the Courts of the State. He immediatelysubsequently, sailed to the West Indies, from whence he returned in thefall of 1850. He has contributed considerably to a number of therespectable journals of the country.
