What reading level is The Continental Monthly, Vol Iii, Issue Vi, June, 1863 book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

But why need this be aninsuperable objection? We don't find Achilles any the less interestingbecause we doubt the ability of any degenerate modern to calmly destroysuch outnumbering hosts of his fellow beings, and send such a throng ofwarrior souls to hades without scath or scar to his invulnerable self. Ivanhoe got out of some very awkward scrapes by the exertion of aprowess quite exceptional in such a 'light-weight. ' The extravagance isnot glaring enough to discompose us. Surely a tolerable ...proximateapproach to possible existence ought to satisfy a not viciously captiouscritic. We are reading of shadowy beings: why should not the facilemists be permeated with a somewhat subtler light, and melt into somewhatairier forms of perfection than we have been accustomed to catchimprisoned in the substantial dulness of the flesh? If we will onlychoose, we may revel in the company of somewhat glorified mortals. Itmay be a luxury to us, if we will not be jealously illiberal andenvious. It is pleasant to emerge from our little chintz-furnishedparlor, and lounge in castles of dimly magnificent extent, where we aresure to meet the choicest society; where some order their mighty huntersfrom the capacious stables, and others go out to drop a stag, or run afox, or bag a few pheasants in the preserves, just to get an appetitefor dinner, from which stupendous meal, tended by hosts of velvet-footedmenials and florid old-family butlers, resplendent ladies rise to retireto gorgeous drawing rooms of any draperied dimensions we may choose tofancy, leaving perhaps a score of gentlemen guests to quaff cobwebbedwines in unstinted goblets.
