The worst thing that can happen to a man is that another should dominate and control his^ will by violence or threats of violence. This, ' think, is why we all feel that despotism is an evil, however enlightened or benevolent : this is why we feel that legal slavery is something far worse than what has been called wage slavery under modern conditions: this is why the use of organized force to dominate or suppress the will of others is sin against humanity.
