Not at all the same thing as "writing like everybody else" is the in- teresting adventure in style which one enters upon by writing in imitation of some one in particular. But to condemn an attempt to profit by what other writers have added to usage is as absurd as to object to the adoption of the accumulated facts of grammar or diction.
