All of our stu- dents have high respect for mechanical skill ; without exception they all enjoy shop-work; and the demand for our students from manufacturers is very great. What wonder then if many find it for their interest to accept positions as tool-users?
Let me warn the reader not to be misled by shallow re...asoning on this point. If one does not become or remain a mechanic it does not prove that he dislikes manual work; it only suggests that he has found some other occupation more remunerative. On the other hand it does not follow that because one does become a mechanic he is therefore in love with manual labor. People are often forced to perform labor which they hate. Examples have not been wanting in recent educational literature, in which writers have reasoned very weakly on these points.
