In India, when a man died, they used to make a great pile of dry wood, and put his dead body upon it, and bind all his wives and lay them by his side, and j then set the wood on fire and burn them all to- gether.
But, we are wandering from our story. About this time, Mohammed pretended that he made a journey, one night, in company with the angel Gabriel, from Mecca to Jerusalem, and from Je- rusalem to the seventh heaven.
