Fruit medium size, flat ; color pale yellow with a bright red cheek, or if grown in the shade, tinted with blush. Flesh white, ten- der, with a pleasant flavor. In use from August to October, and fit for either the table or kitchen.
Hawthornden. A very popular Scotch Apple ; a great and early bearer, fairly maintaining its character in this country ; it is of dwarf growth and spreading form.
