Being impa- tient to see the first fall I went on before the rest, and having cHmbed the flight of wooden steps, so wetted with the spray of the fall as to be slippery as ice, I stood on the platform under a covert of rock foaming with the thunder of the waters, and saw my compan- ions, one by one, turn the angle of the path and pause in front of the sheet of liquid amber sprinkled with snow.
