We are called to withdraw at this time from the distractions of society, to enter into our chamber and commune with our own heart and be still, to judge ourselves by the true standard. We will pray, " Try Thou me, O God, and seek Thou the ground of my heart. " ^ And lest we should incur this Woe pro- nounced by our Lord on Worldly Popularity, "Pray we our Lord, one pang to send Of deep, remorseful fear For every smile of partial friend.
