What reading level is The Great Events By Famous Historians, volume 10 book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

These very men, whom atany other time the merchants, in their pride of riches, would mostprobably have looked down upon, now appeared likely to do them goodservice through their numbers, their courage, their credit with thepopulace, their enmity to the Government, nay, through their beggarlypride itself and their despair. On these grounds they zealouslyendeavored to form a close union with them, and diligently fostered thedisposition for rebellion, while they also used every means to keepalive ...their high opinions of themselves, and, what was most important, lured their poverty by well-applied pecuniary assistance and glitteringpromises. Few of them were so utterly insignificant as not to possesssome influence, if not personally, yet at least by their relationshipwith higher and more powerful nobles; and, if united, they would be ableto raise a formidable voice against the crown. Many of them had eitheralready joined the new sect or were secretly inclined to it; and eventhose who were zealous Roman Catholics had political or private groundsenough to set them against the decrees of Trent and the Inquisition.
