Preachers make great financial sac- rifices to preach the gospel, and many of them toil incessantly, suffer infinite hardships, walk the via dolorosa^ and renounce the thing their hearts hold most dear, and come out of the battle with scars on their forms.
These are just the beginnings of the true preacher's sacrifices. But in spite of, and some- times by means of, the sacrifices and hardships and great hurts, the preacher's reward is ex- ceedingly great beyond the power of words to express, indeed, transcendently greater than any other vocation.
