It now sells at 16 to 20 Rupees a thousand ; but before the bamboos bore fruit and died out, it sold at 5 Rupees a thousand. This bamboo is particularly used for walls of houses, thatching, and fancy basket-work of every description.
2. Orah. — This bamboo grows from 36 to 40 feet in length and about 18 inches in girth ; it is fit for use at three years old, and can be cut till its fifth year.
