"' Though Sir Andrew Murray had practically reconquered Scotland north ot the Forth, Cupar, Perth, Edinburgh, Stirling. Rox- burgh, Lochmaben, and Berwick were still in Eng- lish hands, and Douglas and his fellow-patriots have sworn that Edward shall not retain a foot of Scottish soil.
