But this restriction does not apply to the amount of the purchase-money which may be fixed. (See judgment of BEWLEY, J. , Gun-Cunningham v. Byrne, 30 L. R. Ir. , at p. 388. ) If the sum so fixed exceeds 3, 000, the tenant must himself provide the balance over that amount or the redemption cannot be carried out.
