What reading level is The Journal of Negro History, volume 1, January 1916 book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

While the LiberianCommissioners were in session, President Roberts and his comrades wereinvited to come to the Anthony Street Church to inform them of the country. After several speeches had been made, opportunity was given to the coloredpeople to ask questions that had not been touched upon. This continued forsome time and seemed to elicit information highly favorable to the cause, until a Mr. Morrill made his way up the aisle toward the platform. Afterhaving gained the attention of the audien...ce with an air of superioritywhich showed he was accustomed to control audiences of colored people, hesaid that he had just come into town and was surprised to find his friendsengaged in holding a colonization meeting. "That question, " said he, "hasbeen settled long ago! and the Liberia humbug--" At this point the hisseswere so loud he could not be heard. Finally after much yelling and shoutingof "hear him, " the meeting became a bedlam and the presiding officerattempted to leave the chair. Finding order impossible the meeting wasadjourned in an uproar.
